Hey all. . .

I am STILL looking for a shot of the night sky for our indie feature, "Terminal." It's the last shot in the film, and it needs to just be of the sky, showing stars, maybe the moon, etc. No trees, no horizon line, etc. I'm not looking for a timelapse shot. . . just a shot where someone looks up at the sky and says "it's beautiful."

Does ANYONE have a three second shot like this?

Thanks.

Stephen

If not a time-lapse, I'm not sure how you're going to get exposure (even at t1.3 and 1/24th shutter it wouldn't be bright enough). Or are you looking for a computer generated one? It may be better to take a still and then bring it into AE and had a "shimmer" to stars or grain to make it look like it's in motion… slow digital zoom or something… If that's the case, I have a still shot of just the starry night's sky, that I *think* I can find the .cr2 of. The only problem is, it's a straight upward shot of the sky and the focal length is considerably long (I think it was 50mm).

PM me if that's something you were considering using.

A night sky is easy. The trick is whether you want the moon in it, whether it's out in the woods or in a city, what time of night it is, if any clouds are visible, what the weather is, and so on, plus what you can pay for it. One phone call to any major stock footage company should get you the footage in ten minutes.
