I may be using Adobe for Blu-Ray if Apple does not hurry up. I hate the fact that they are supporting hd-dvd - the enemy. The faster, the war ends, the faster us producers can support and deliver product. Right now, even with 2 formats.. dvd at $1.50 and BD at $6.00 for 1000 copies... why should I have to add HD-DVD?!! I'd rather put our more titles... but my capital is getting sucked up in inventory per title at $7500 that may take a year or 5 years to sell!!!!

Pick a side... Blu-Ray is the better format... with PS3 AND SILICON VALLEY and Hollywood supporting it until the @#$ studios Paramount and Universal sold out for 150 million... but this @#$ the rest of us... The retailers will have to carry 2 HD formats at twice the cost and half the shelf space and twice the inventory.... thanks studio sluts! You screwed lots of people!! Karma will pay you back Paramount and Universal... and what the hell is Time Warner advertising retailers to carry both - that is stupid lets carry records, 8 track, and cds too?! It costs retailers twice as much!!! Retailer shelf space will be cut in half... That is BS!!!

I love Amazon but they are fueling the @#$#@ war by supporting both sides like Switzweland in WW2 and like Warner Brothers - shame of you!! The faster the war ends, with Blu Ray winnning the better for everyone...

DVD did well with one format and everyone supported it as it replaced vhs. Outside of Divx supported by Circuit City that quickly bombed... DVD was and is the current winner... lets make Blu-ray that is outselling hd-dvd 60% to 40% in the USA and over 60% in Europe become the winner and format. I'm glad hd-dvd has forced blu-ray to become cheeper faster than it would. But we need to hurry up and pick sides and end the war ASAP.

The 18-85mm is still in development and is now due in Summer 2008. Sorry for the lack of info. "All specs and dates subject to change." :-)

Jim

Primes are on a delay... now Spring 2008. But they will be good.

Jim

it looks as though you're running your 18-50mm and 50-150mm business, very well.. :whistling:

I was hoping to see some test on that Birger mount before I made my mind up on the RED18-50 zoom. If I wait till the last minute to order the RED zoom will I be out of luck when my camera is ready to ship? Or can I order last minute with my other camera accessories?

The primes are delayed until spring? Ouch. I'm happy to be a late RED reservation holder because I need those primes, not like I'm going out and buying them from another company.

So the 18-50 and 50-150 will be available by February 2008 or so I hope right? Because that'd be plenty sufficient I'm sure, at first...

Can anyone from the RED team give me an answer? Thank you.

This thread was badly hijacked... I cleaned it up and moved all the unrelated disc format posts here.

Carry on...
