Hey guys,

Just wanted to know: is there a definitive way to sync multiple Epics up to some strobes to avoid the banding that happens when the strobes flash faster than the sensor can keep up with? If so, are you using any special accessories on camera? What kind of strobes / speeds are you using to get clean, full strobe flashes?

Any info is appreciated. Thanks!

Well, since no one is answering, hopefully this answer will at least give you some direction. I'd imagine that the recently announced motion mount would be one solution. If you didn't go that route, I've read that some strobes have durations that are long enough (at certain power settings) so that you don't end up with the banding caused by the scan speed. However, I don't know who makes those strobes.

Of course you could also have googled the answer yourself!

Thanks for the feedback guys. The creamsync is actually what our gaffer had proposed! I should have been more specific though - we may have two to three epics, and we'd like to attach all of those to the creamsync. I'm still hunting down answers to that, but your input is always appreciated. Many thanks!

Okay so updated info from our gaffer - looks like the lighting units are going to be Atomic 3000 strobes connected through a GranMA console. From what I'm seeing so far there doesn't seem to be an effective way to connect the camera and these units / control sources to sync up for strobe lights. Any one attempt anything like this?
