  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Decency...

Umm, welcome to the internets?
I just find this whole thread hilarious/ridiculous, while instead of doing something productive, people are debating what constitutes debating.

I personally have no interest in the Red One because I cant afford it, and I just spent my "scarlet savings" on a new car last week.
I've been asked, "Why do you bother coming here then?"
I come back about once a week to read up on a wealth of information here.
Yes, I have to pick through the biased opinions, but in there somewhere is usually a ton of film making tips that I enjoy reading.
And every now and then I'll come across an entertaining thread like this, and humor myself while some footage renders or to kill some time.

Can't you think ahead? Don't you have ambition to use a RED camera someday? It's a marvelous piece of technology, I spend so much time here that I know everything about it without ever having seen one in person.

"Welcome to the internets"? It's not 4chan here mate... Kids who think they are awesome because other kids who are even more stupid care for for their trolling should stay far away from a professional forum.

The acceptance or even indiference towards such immature attitudes will only hinder the forum for the very use you value it for, valuable information.

On the other hand, I don't find hilarious a moderator having to open a thread to ask for some common sense. I'd only find it hilarious if I was in favour of all those questionable acts he described in the original post.

I would like to point out that the leadership sets the tone, and until recently, all things Red were pretty irreverent. I acknowledge that there seems to have been a silent shift lately, but "We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone with a bad attitude." is still the law of the land. It seems to me that if you are running about tripping on your own bottom lip that you just might be in need of an attitude adjustment.

It was not so long ago that a respectable RedUser here present shared this with us:

Another reminded us that this forum is no place for pussies...

I don't disagree with the sentiments expressed in this thread but let's not forget where we were just a short while ago, and let us not forget where we put our sense of humor.

HAHAHA!!!

Sadly, I know exactly what you mean. :) My other half is Italian, as well as the grandparents I was brought up with. Being raised in Argentina only adds to it.

But I am pretty balanced out now since I finished my High School here in the States, where I have lived for over 14 years, and my wife is Swedish-German from Minnesota. :)

:grouphug:

Don`t let them put out your fire! :-)

Time to re-heat this thread.

When people voice their concerns, it does not automatically mean that they can be attacked at will.

When someone voices their concern, it does not automatically make them a red-hater.

Attacking people is not a way of supporting RED. It just makes us all look immature.

You can argue with facts, but not with emotions.

Do. Not. Use. Ridicule.

Do not use profanity.

And people who ignore moderator's PMs requesting adherence to the Real Name policy are at fault for thinking that the problem will go away. Comply or good-bye.
