  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

December 1st Dragon Sensor upgrade price increase reminder

I'm thinking it'll be a while Jarek... my rep said I'd get shipping instructions 'in a day or two'... have not yet received them.

We did staff up in expectation of the Dec 1 deadline. So, of our estimate of 7-10 business days from the time we receive the camera at RED Irvine to the day we ship it back (either to REL or directly to you, for example), we are hoping to stay around that range.

Brent is right. I was told the 7-10 day estimate as well. My camera arrived at RED yesterday. Hopefully I will have it by December 18th

My camera has been away for 4 weeks tomorrow:( it's a shame red Europe are not geared up for this. Considering the size of the European market would it not be sensible?

True that Bob

i phoned yesterday and they did'Nt actually know where my camera was,if it had been done, first day back I hope.Would be so much better all round if they gave red Europe more tooling from a service point of veiw.

Dropped mine off at RED Europe on the 21st - nothing yet - I assume holidays also a factor, Im waiting patiently as I fully understand the demand, but I also just want to get out and play with my dragon!

Really? thats rubbish!

have they given you any kind of eta?

red europe just contacted me saying they are waiting on the US to get back to them and currently have no information as to where my camera is and if it has been done.

November here, no camera yet

November for me as well :) But I'm sure they are doing everything they can.
Maybe it was a poorly chosen time to set the price increase just before Christmas.

i would suggest coming up with a plan B for those jobs if you dropped it of on the 21st , i think they have been swamped and put behind with the holiday period.

Now that we are back in the office, our DRAGON upgrade crew just got a full update on all REL cameras in WIP at Irvine. Sam, yours shipped back to REL yesterday. Casper and Suresh, you both are on track to complete in next couple of days, barring any hiccups at final stages. Jordan, rough timeframe for us to complete yours is mid-Jan.

We are at about 10-15 business days right now with the spike and holidays. And note that time is the time we receive it at Irvine till we send it back out. Does not include transit time and such between REL and Irvine. For example, the "November" cameras mentioned in this thread did not hit Irvine until December.

We are going as quickly as we can without sacrificing quality. If sensor upgrades were easy and not a logistical PITA, everyone would be doing it and not forcing you to buy a new camera. Or would they? Hehe.

PS, now don't everyone ask me "when is my camera going to be ready", I was just trying to address the guys who already chimed in. Use my 10-15 business day time in Irvine as your estimate until we get caught up and are back to 7-10 business days....

thanks Brent

does that mean i will get the camera back by early next week if all goes well?

cheers

suresh

I am not quite sure exact turnaround times of when it hits REL, but I think sometime next week seems realistic.

Import clearance takes a day at best into the UK. Once we have it at REL we can ship out, or you can collect the same day.

Thanks Alan and Brent,

It would be great if you guys had better lines of communication with the US to give us more accurate eta's and basic info like where my camera is. its a bit strange the Europe team were not able to fo this and I managed to get some clarity from reduser. I know this is a hard process and you guys are doing your best but please take into account we have paid a considerable amount of money so basic info like eta's really should'nt be a problem. Like I said to sam m today this is not a luxury good for me, it's how I support my family.

Thanks for the info and Alan if you can do anything to help me get the camera in for next week it would be much appreciated.

Thanks again

Suresh

Understood, Suresh. We apologize for being backed up and this led to communication not being as prompt as it should be over the last month or so...
