You're too funny Deanan. Maybe we need to add "no row skipping spoken here!"

just wondering if the sensor specs (pixel size, dynamic range) were left off this time because they haven't been confirmed, or because people on the forums had too many retarded "quantum efficiency" discussions after the last time you posted them?

So we're binning now are we? Who gets the bum sensors?"Mysterium X Select" Sensors are the best of the litter...
The scarlet 2/3 its not capable of shooting 120 fps with FF30 fps in 1080p?! Its less data rigth than 3K. So why not?
is it necessary to say Doctor Pruitt speaks for the benefit of all of us?Geez, Jim, what's up with that? Too much coffee?
For the record, I purchased three RED Ones. I suspect that puts me somewhere in the top 5% of RED One purchasers. We used two of 'em for our first film.
And, Jim, what's absolutely true is that low-budget filmmakers need more dynamic range than the big boys. They have light kits to die for. They can put as much light inside a room as that great HMI in the sky. We, on the other hand, have a very modest set-up with just two small HMIs (2500 and 1200, respectively) and six Kino-esques. Attempting to shoot indoors and get enough light inside to maintain exterior detail on a bright day just isn't possible with small light kits. Thus, my (and other indie filmmakers') craving for the higher dynamic range of the Monstro.
For the record, I'm very excited about the new cameras. I'll undoubtedly buy an Epic or two. It just happens that a lot of us are going to be holding out for the FF35 to get that added dynamic range.

So the Epic X LE will be $28k also? I just don't want to get excited about upgrading prices until I confirm them
Not as exciting as I was hoping (I wanted the freakin cure for cancer), but these are going to be some VERY nice cameras!

Countless hours of hard work from many have contributed to making this program happen. RED is a collection of the most talented people I've ever had the pleasure to work with.

Guys, look at the target dates. It looks to me like the only reason some cameras get Mysterium-X and some get Monstro is because some of them will be shipping before Monstro exists, and some will be shipping after.
Can someone from RED confirm that the Epic X -- really, any/all of the brains shipping with Mysterium-X -- will be eligible for upgrades to Monstro when that sensor technology is ready?

ummm feedback......
The R1 sensor upgrade for $4.5K looks about right. Thanks for the option.
The Epic X looks like Jim is selling us (with freebies) a camera nobody wants.
How do we move from the S35 Epic to the FF35 Epic (a camera everybody wants)?
Or is Jim saying.....'you spent about $35K to go from nothing (exisiting old cameras) to the all singing/dancing RedOne and you're gonna pay that amount again to get the additional 3+ stops/ 4Kchroma rez etc.
The issue that won't go away is this Epic upgrade path.
Unless i missed something?
ever cheerful/happy,
Dave
ps: i don't think it's a matter of we're got the technology, lets cut it up with the marketing knife. the thing that really separates Red from it's competitors is the leaps in value/technology it was able to do. I'd hate to see the sun setting on this.
