So long story short, anybody who'd planning on getting an Epic should just buy a RED ONE now and, if nothing else, sit on it until the Epic ships.

I wonder if early camera owners will be able to get multiple "Epic X" packages.

What do you mean by multiple? Wouldn't it be one Epic X per Red One?

BINGO! We are getting one this week... :w00t:

I'm glad Jim made that announcement first. Although I do not own a RED One, I feel for the other RED One owners who are concerned about being left behind. If this is priced at no more than ~$22,000-25,000, I'd say that'd be a pretty good deal.

This really took away the "camera envy" that was going on.

Now we'll see about pricing.

Wasn't that the point to begin with though, Brook? Now, future Epic owners will be able to get free CF, I/O, and battery modules as well (and be first in line).

Is there a deadline to qualify as a Red Owner or the Limited is limited to the first...... Otherwise, the Epic X package is USD17,500.....??

Is this offer not exclusively reserved for those who already have an R1 in their possession or am I sniffing something?

DogDay.

Well - It makes sense

Well - It makes sense

Very nice an' all.

I suppose RED had to do something about all the cancelled orders - no good having no revenue for the next six months - which is pretty much the problem with announcing all your new products so early. And having your new products make the old ones look so - ummm - old.

This way, people have a reason to buy into RED ONE now, and upgrade later.

Not being snarky about this - I think it makes good business sense, however you dress it up. Early RED ONE owners still get to benefit before late adopters...

Now, really - night all.

Ben

Jim,

The new Epic X photo you just posted looks fantastic.....as usual.

Epic X is more. Jim has yet to announce the additional upgrade cost on top of the 17.5 credit.

You gotta make sure the browser isn't caching the page!!! :)

The guy who makes that code is sending an "If-modified-since" to the server, so you will get the new page when it is there.

Originally if a RED ONE owner wanted to trade in for the S35 EPIC they'd have to pay about 10 grand correct? So now I'm wondering if EPIC X will be much cheaper considering it's not just a brain.
