Introducing the Deadly Cine Power Grid™.
This simple yet versatile accessory aims to fulfill the need for a stronger Red Battery Plate adapter with more options for hard-mounting.
Consisting of 2 1/2 ounces of machined aluminum, this adapter has a grid of 1/4-20 clearance holes identical to the pattern of 1/4-20 taps found on the Calavera; a pattern which, in turn, is based on the spacing found on Red accessories.
Because the interior is recessed (pictured below) the Power Grid gives you ultimate flexibility in low-head or button-head socket cap screw placement, without interfering with the underbelly of the Red Battery Plate. Having the screw heads recessed also allows you to use the Power Grid in conjunction with the more weather-tight steel backing that ships with the Red Battery Plate, if so desired.
The following configuration was created by combining the Power Grid with some 2" aluminum spacers from McMaster, and mounting it to the top of a Calavera.
This profile view demonstrates the usefulness of such a setup for a stack that starts with a Calavera-mounted drive on the bottom (drive not pictured), a battery on top for easy access, and any sort of box (receiver, transmitter, converter, etc.) nestled in between (box not-pictured).
The generous distribution of 1/4-20 clearance holes gives you more precision for tucking away the battery plate for a compact setup.
Can also be attached to the vertical face of the Red Top Mount.
Can be attached to a Red Universal Mount.
For other types of mounting solutions, pair the Power Grid with products such as the Cine Lock quick release adapter or the Nano Clamp rod clamp (not pictured). Or combine the three to make an affordable, rod-mounted, quick-release battery plate!
