So I deciede to test a DCP out of Adobe Media Encoder and test it using the free EasyDCP play. The playback seemed smooth and synced but the visual quality looked horrible (see attached image). Is that something to be expected because of the color space that DCP works in and if so - how do you test a DCP package for image quality other than getting into an actual theater?

Thanks

That is the real question. For this reason, I've always, alway recommended to my clients that we book time in an (inexpensive) DCI screening room to see what it looks like on at least a 20' screen. A monitor is not going to cut it. Don't forget you also have to check the audio all the way through, making sure the channel assignments are correct, sync is dead-on, no glitches, black frames, etc. QC is a very important part of the post process.

Tom, I think that Adobe Media Encoder is suffering the same bug as After Effects. Does it look like very low resolution, like 1/8th?
