Since we're usually working with lots of content, I'd prefer to do my coloring in Premiere. The DaVinci Resolve panels look really nice, but I've heard they don't work in Premiere. I've never used Resolve, so how complicated is exporting the grade and importing it into Premiere?

Is the Tangent panel going to do the same thing as a Davinci panel? I like that the Tanget works in Premiere.

Thanks,

Jeremy

If you're primarily looking to color within Premiere, then I'd say the Tangent Elements is the best choice.

The Resolve Mini panel only works in Resolve, so it has that limitation. They also left out a few often-used controls (start-dissolve and end-dissolve are high on that list), and those are found on the Tangent.

I think form factor alone makes the Elements a better choice. The Mini panel is deep and tall, which is an odd shape for most desks. Especially since you still want a keyboard and mouse, and in my case a tablet.

I'm using a Tangeant Wave along a Shuttle Pro 2 Jog, it's cheap, and it works really well.
Though if budget is not a problem, the Mini looks awesome if you're a full time colorist working at home.

The only thing I have to say is highlight is too far from the main controller.

We have both the BM micro and the Element Panels, and I prefer the element (even though it's three times the price.). If you also want to grade in Premiere, then element is the obvious choice. I don't like that the element is not programmable in Resolve- I have to do more shift/'second page' stuff than I'd like- but ironically you CAN map buttons on the element to 'fake keystrokes' in other apps. So I have next/previous edit and J K L mapped in Media Composer, which is great. (Haven't been able to get the rings and balls to work on MC, except as fake keystrokes, which is just weird.)
