Wow, 1,000 enhancements. 250 New Features. Maybe, 3rd party plug-in support.

Let me say this about that: when I started reporting lots of bugs with 12 beta, the Resolve Team reached out to me and said "Tell us more about your workflow. Tell us more about how you would like it to work. Tell us what's really missing (or not) compared to other NLEs you use." These guys are passionate about making the best product. Their customer-facing attitude is almost the complete opposite of another major NLE vendor, who never once ever even acknowledged one of the many "wishlist" items I submitted. Let alone reached back and said "can we talk about that?"
Resolve 12 saved my butt earlier this year when basic stability problems of another NLE left me dead in the water. I'm really excited to see what Resolve 12.5 has to offer!
My opinion is that the real profit is all in BMD hardware. But I honestly don't know. They generally have good products and continue to shake things up in the industry.Still wondering about the profit model for the software long term.
M.Halsell;1616512 An After Effects type product is really all that is needed to match the Adobe Video Suite. Theoretically said:BMD have Digital Fusion already, covers off the AE nicely, just needs to be intergrated similar to dyunamic linking, in fusion terms that's called Fuson Link, that's already been working for years now in MC and DS
1,000 enhancements. 250 new features is quite alot for .5 release. So maybe this release will pack a punch. Been racking my brain to figure out who's lunch BM is after this year. An After Effects type product is really all that is needed to match the Adobe Video Suite. Theoretically, a fraction of that functionality could be added into Resolve. Still wondering about the profit model for the software long term.
I've had a pretty good experience with Resolve over the years. In my opinion, Resolve is the thing that BM does best. Everything else they do seems rushed and unfinished, but Resolve has always been working splendid. Other people who I've helped with technical problems always seem to try and run Resolve on low-spec systems, so maybe if people would stop using low performing Mac and get a high performance PC they would find it much more stable? :tongue_smilie:

I've had issues with low to medium end macs with it all the time and been considering a super computer. PC has 24gb vram cards now for 5k and 12gb ones for like 1,250 only and you can buy rigs with many cores and enough molex and juice for multiple of these GPUs plus get lots of ram and it's amazing specs vs trash cans from an empirical perspective
ProRes continues to be a bitch for the non-Mac world. I'm disappointed that Apple continues to ignore this part of their market and kind of hangs pro users out to dry.Sure thing. You have all dressed up with nowhere to go, when client requests Prores delivery![]()
