  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Data Integrity Error: Camera Shutdown

That is a real nightmare. I have 4 Red and never get this kind of errors. Don't see anything else than sending the camera to Red asap.

Olivier

Oliver: this couldn't have happened at a more inconvenient time for me, the next 2 weeks I have bookings and shootings back to back.
does anyone have experience with getting a replacement body from red ? do they usually offer this service ?

Sorry to hear that, Doc!

Talk to RED directly and see what they come up with to make sure you're not having to take another hit. Maybe they have an idea about the next two weeks, too. Maybe there's a reduser around who can cover with his camera for you. Sometimes healthy neighborly help is a good thing to fall back to.

thanks Patrick, yep will do, support ticket already submitted.

With your contributions to REDUSER, I support the cause for RED to get you back on track asap.

Can anyone near you help in the interim?

I know if I was near you and had an EPIC, I would jump in to lend you a hand.

Haha thanks Eric, I dont really get to contribute as much helpful stuff as I'd like to but I appreciate the thought. I managed to get a replacement body from a friend nearby so at least I can do my music video shoot tomorrow and wednesday. But the hires next week dont look too good :/

Dominik,

I'm mindful of the time differential for you - Please file a support ticket if you haven't done so already, and take a .log file from the camera.
You can send that file to our UK office so we can get a look at it quick and then liaise with our colleagues in the US if necessary.

Alan.

I would try a different SSD Module.

or yes re-seat and look for obstructions and bad connections on the one you have.

Or try re-seating the current SSD module. Try taking everything off but the bare minimum for powering up… Then power up and let it run for a couple mins. Then boot down for a couple mins and re-seat all the modules you took off (including the SSD module.)

If errors only happen when it records, and the SSDs aren't screwed, than it can only be something internally driving the SSD module, or the SSD module itself.

thanks for the help guys, unfortunately that didn't do the trick either :/

The camera ignores the record button completely. nothing happens if I press it anymore. it wont even start rolling.

Just submitted a log file and waiting to hear back from RED but I assume the baby needs to go back in for a repair.

I just tried a completely different SSD side module from a friends EPIC...but the problem still persists. Camera runs perfectly fine, can playback footage, access all the menus....but the record buttons are dead.

Or try assigning a different button to toggle Record? Clutching at straws here!

Hey Robert,

both of them at the same time ? the one on the SSD module and the side handle ?
Plus I swapped the SSD module with that from another Epic I know that works....but even that didnt help. So it must be something more serious internal :/

I had this issue before, I had to send the camera in to get it resolved.
