I had a great trip over the last few days up in the lower/eastern sierras, but I was mainly eager to try out my new Canon EF 24mm f/1.4 L - which I am also dying to try out on Red once this mount situation gets sorted out. Even stopped down to f/2, this lens is much faster than my EF-S 10-22 at f/3.5. It allowed me to cut my exposure time way down (as far as I wanted), which also had the effect of making my shot last longer while my camera panned with the Milky Way.

Settings: Canon 350D DSLR, ISO800, f/2, 30s, 5s intervals, .05 degrees pan per frame.
On RED, the 24mm is closer to being a 35mm prime, which could be useful for cinema and commercial work, especially in really low light at 1.4. I'm going to try to do some tests with this lens soon. Birger.... oh Birger...
