Hey guys, anyone catching "DARK" on Netflix? It's basically the German "Stranger Things". My wife's been watching it, and I've been getting some peaks in, and I'm BLOWN AWAY. Looks fantastic, and the story is great.

Here's the trailer:

Anyone know what it's shot on?

Some shots are so clean, and so punchy, I've been thinking RED, but would love to know more.

Definitely check it out!!

Wow, that's still going to be close to VV (I did some math, probably 36mm across) so that means they did indeed lean into some of the very large image circles of the Ultras....

Thats some very good math. If you go to the bottom of the Arri 65 website there is a frameline composer that gives you the actual dimensions of the 4.3k frame on the Alexa 65. The actual width across is 35.64mm. Shooting at 1.78 means you need about a 42.88mm image circle. According to the Ducloss image circle database the 40mm and the 85mm Ultra Primes have a 42mm image circle. The 50mm has a 40mm image circle. You're right, they are just making it in terms of coverage.

Yeah that show was brilliant. I loved the story and was blown away by the cinematography. I was looking for some lighting setups from this show, but did not find one.

Just finished it a few days ago. I was going to recommend It here so no one is missing this show!
If I would compare the feeling of this and "stranger things"
I would say that "Dark" have a darker feel, a slower more realistic pace and dialog. But I love both shows alot!!!
