Set in a future New York City, several years from now,
where earthquakes are a regular occurrence in our changed
environment. A collapsing building traps a couple underground
and fear of approaching death accelerates their attraction.

some production notes:
Its a low budget, and I aimed to spend $500 but
I went a little over as we always do.
I will put together my notes and post more details soon.

misc notes:
The satellite image in the background of the poster is the indonesian
province Aceh and the aftermath of Christmas 2004 earthquake and tsunami.

I hope this might be of interest to other indie filmmakers on low budgets.
I have since sold the GL2 so
Dancer is the last film for me on standard definition.

.....12 bucks on drinks at a meeting???

I've been to New York...that's like... 1 beer

Avenue C is downtown, Alphabet City, where beers are $5 or $6 and subway is not really within staggering distance.
Thats where we shot it.

Next time you are here you should head down that way. A lotta parties going on.

When I get a chance I will copy down the settings and post them.
I should do this soon before I archive this project. These nodes were
applied to DV NTSC Anamorphic which equates to 854x480 square pixels.
All uprezing to 720p happened after CC because I did this all on laptops.

Crushing blacks, blowing out highs, adding grain was all done to build character and bring the feel of the film away from 'video'.

I like your enthusiasm and drive to create a short film your passionate about for next to no money. Your budget reminds me of some of my 'next to no budget' films I have proudly boasted to friends!
I made a 30 sec commercial for around $67 a few years ago. The majority of that was spent on beers for the actors as us Aussies like to drink! The rest of the money was on a few industrial lights from Home Depot. Everything else was either borrowed, owned or donated.
Let money never stop anyone from creating something they are truly passionate about!!!
