  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

DAN BAUM

Just to chime in..

Dan has been my Bomb Squad since he started at Red. He has been very responsive and supportive for all my needs that I once even started a "Thank You" thread dedicated to him. In my cases, it's usually me delaying the communication due to my work schedule, and Dan just keeps reminding me of things that I might have missed. On the Scarlet announcement day, Dan, who I assume was working overtime, answered our call while the Reduser and Red.com were down to support us.

Now on the other side, my colleage, Mike, has had some problems communicating with Dan and Red because his e-mail account would not be recognized by Red's e-mail system. Red's technical dept. sorted that problem after a few more errors, so I'd like to think Levan was having such technical issues.

My apologies to you, Levan, if I'm acting like I know what you were going through. I'm just trying to show my experiences with Dan.

Cheers,

Dan Baum is my rep.

He has been nothing other than respectful, thoughtful and honest.

Every experience and exchange I have with him is a real pleasure and he replies to every email and phonecall. RED is at an absolute peak production right now processing thousands of orders.

It's important to be detailed and to get it right. Dan does that and he also does it with polite kIndness.

It's a shame to see him called out for not answering email while on a national holiday reminding everyone to ge grateful.

I'm grateful Dan. Thanks for all your good, considerate work.

David.

I'm more than happy to put Dan's name in front of 40,000 REDusers and say he's a great guy. Right now he's working for me trying to sort out an accessories order I placed nearly a month ago - according to him records show it should have been shipped and I should have it, but I never got the Fedex email or the package!

Taking orders and shoving stuff out the door isn't that tricky, it's just hard work; it's when things go wrong that people really earn their pay. Dan is the man!

Mike

Yep, Dan rocks! He's helped me sort through three Epic-X packages and make sure everything gets to me properly half way across the world.

And when there was an error in payment he sorted it out without fuss.

He's all good in my books and doing a fantastic job!

Cheers from Tokyo,

Paul :)

So, sounds like the way to make everyone happy is to clone Dan. I will talk to our engineers...

Why clone him? Add a little bit of that X factor you keep bottled up over there and release the Dan-X. ;)

I gotta say that I'm super happy for everyone who has had amazing experiences with their Bom rep. Just makes those who haven't feel like idiots, right? I've been patient, calm, respectful and understanding yet until today, when this post was made, my Red customer service has been very un-assuring and far from pleasant. It's not a matter of slander or praise here for me, just looking for a solution and a better experience over all.

I want a monstro Dan. But seriously Dan has been great to deal with and as I manage another account that had rep issues I can tell you the difference. Dan is da' bomb.

Will the Dan X be upgradeable to the new sensor chip? Can I have it delivered now even before you have made it? ..... Why hasn't anyone responded. It has been at least 10 seconds since I posted ...

We're just relaying the positive RED experiences we've had. No one is bashing you personally. Some of us have had a good experience and it's fair for you to voice your problems with not getting the answers you want.

David

Yeah guys...

Totally not cool to call out publicly on any one like that, and I can say that if any one here puts a true stress test on any one at RED that would be me, and I mean EVERYONE!!

I have emailed and been in contact with RED most certainly more then any one has ever or will ever here, and DAN, was also my Bomb Squad, and has been absolutely GREAT,
in both the service and care He has provided as well as replying to the insane number of emails during his service with me as my Bomb Squad, so don't go disrespecting like this some
one that is really killing it, and just understand that you might not be his only CUSTOMER and that every one deserve time off!!

Guess there are more positive experiences than negative....so either says something about the OP's expectations being far too high---I think everyone agree's that there are some folks you can NEVER please. OR....maybe the OP is right and Dan had an off day or week....we all do, but i see only ONE post here negative and a lot of positive. I'd also have to say that i'd have to have complete shit service and just a rediculuos amount of screw ups to actually call out a bomb rep online....BALLS!!! I think i'd call RED first, tak to my rep, then go up to the next level.....kind of easy to do before you get online....but seems these days too many folks are desensitized to HUMAN CONTACT and actually SPEAKING ....and like to hit the enter button and think it's off their shoulders now....use those skills of speech by mouth first.

Honestly, I think a lot of people are afraid to say anything negative on this site. Seems like as soon as someone has an issue with RED, and decides to discuss it on here, they get immediately banned from reduser.

First let me second others in their praise of Dan. He has always gone out of his way and done yoeman service on my behalf. So kudos to Dan Baum from me.

And Dave, I really don't think a lot of people are afraid to say something negative or afraid to raise issues. Certainly enough do. But there is something called style and courtesy and common sense in the way you do raise issues. Some just blat out their frustrations without really thinking or walking in the other guys shoes or considering circumstances. I think those who raise legitimate concerns with basic common decency are accepted and appreciated.

I have plenty to add to this topic, but I hesitate to do so. It's been a very frustrating experience.

word.

There's a difference between having a rational, cordial and professional approach to problem solving (i.e. calling first), and belting it out in public with multiple exclamation marks, knowing perfectly well the guy's boss hangs around these threads. That's just being a dick.

Dave, the negative comments I've seen posted on reduser.net lack, more often than not, any form of courtesy or constructiveness.

For those who post with the right attitude, problems are solved, feedback is given, exchanges are positive.
