Recorded from camera to a 16gb cf card, then when I treid to back up the card failed to mount on my mac, tried different card readers, red cf reader plus 2 different lexars, also tried on pc and laptop. Ran REdundead and also disk warrior still no joy, tried to playback in camera and it will not mount in camera either, so my conclusion is that the cf card has been damaged. Has anyone else had a similar issue, is it possible to open up a cf and have it fixed.

If another card works in your camera, and it doesn't even appear in disk utility, I'd guess one or more of the contacts on the card is damaged, or the card itself has died. Unlikely to be fixable - but if it's toast anyway, you might try and have a look inside, although opening it up in itself would probably break it!

Camera's reader was fine so must be damaged cf card, first time I have lost footage, always assumed when it happened it would be a red drive so a bit surprised.

I had two different ACs bend pins on the camera CF module. Once this damaged the card beyond repair. Even sent it to RED and they could not recover the data. But there was clear damage to the CF module in my case. Have you recorded to another card from your camera since this happened?

You can send it to RED for them to attempt data recovery if the footage is critical. They have some extra measures not otherwise available. Did not work in my case, unfortunately. I went thru my Bombsquad rep.
