Greetings.

Four destination drives: what's the limits of daisy chaining? Ever put that many drives together via a chain? Or would you not advise it?

Where would you mount your RED RAID in the sequence?
The new MBP only has 1 FW800 port, unfortunately.

I'm looking at chaining them, but putting the RED drive at the end of the chain doesn't seem wise.
Thoughts?
Many thanks.

Make sure you download the latest drivers, they might not have even updated their drivers for the newest MBP

The theoretical limit is quite high, IIRC. Performance will likely degrade to the unusable point long before you hit that limit.

Mixing and matching how my drives are connected sometimes results in a performance increase (ie, copy from a FW to a USB2 drive) when the busses are maxing out.

Adding ports via expresscard sounds like a good call, if you can get the issue with that sorted.
