Cutting through the hype surrounding Light Emitting Plasma (LEP) lamps

Unfortunately the diyprojectorkits LEP is no longer available from them. I was going to get one to experiment with, but they took it off their store and told me they weren't carrying them anymore. Bummer. Now I guess the way to get them is to go to Luxim directly and order one of their development kits, which I think runs around $1000.

How much do you want to bet that one of the LEP fixture manufacturers called LUXIM and asked them to cut off supply to diy....

Kapton can be used

Just FYI here, Kapton has been implicated in a few serious accidents. Once it starts to burn, it does so in a very big, uncontrollable way.

I won't touch anything that contains even a trace of Kapton.

What are your thoughts on the new Luxim STA 75 puck? I would like to hear your thoughts on this new peice of lighting.

The STA 75 is good, but nothing out of the ordinary. I would be neutral in using it or not.
