  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Custom RTMotion Monitor/Rx mount w/ power distro, rosette grip and LED arm

Just received some new machining quotes, which means I can announce a new better pricing structure ...

Now you can opt for different packages, BASIC, STANDARD and DELUXE which offer different levels of saving.

Also, check out the new slimmer ergocine Black Walnut grip below. It brings your thumb much closer to the controller's microforce knob and it feels lush in the hand.

Visit cinenick.com/rtm for more info.

Quick comparison photo highlighting the difference between an off-the-shelf grip (in this case SmallRig/CoolLCD) and ergocine's new grip profile. Firstly, there's a lot more wood in the hand (and the smooth black walnut feels great) and your hand is closer to the RTMotion controller so you can easily thumb the zoom microforce knob.

The ergocine grip is standard in the Deluxe package of my mount system, or is available as an add-on to the Basic and Standard packages. More info here.

Looks pretty slick. I'm interested but I would need a way to have both a handle and a baby pin mount at the same time. Perhaps the baby pin mount could have a double sided rosette to go between the handle and the controller? I realize this puts the handle further from the zoom demand, which actually wouldn't matter to me personally. If there was a well placed 1/4-20 thread somewhere to attach a a spud to, that could work. Just my thoughts.

Bead blast complete ... off to anodizing.
New part (right) for Alex: rosette extender with orthogonal 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 threads.

Taking pre-orders at cinenick.com/rtm.

Hello Nick,

Does it also work with the Bolt 703 monitor/reciever?
I've seen the monitor is less than 1kg, how would it feel in hand for a daily use?

Thanks

Pat

Hi Pat

Yes. With my current design you would need the DV battery plate on the rear of the 703 Bolt so the correct voltage is accepted. However, I am finishing up a boost circuit module for my base unit that would circumvent this and allow for direct Lemo connectivity.

As for the daily use feel ... I have not yet been able to test one of these out. However, I have worked my system with a 702 Bright and Vaxis Storm 1000+ which weighs in combined at 892g, just a little shy of the 703 Bolt's 907g payload.

My 702/Storm setup, albeit heavy, is perfectly manageable with my system, especially with the front plate's neck strap attachment stud. For long shoot days, I recommend, using my system's included pin-adapter so you can set it up on a light-stand for moments when your AC doesn't need to walk with the shot.

Hope that makes sense.

For those of you in London over the next few days, my mount system will be at the CVP booth (#315) at the BSC Expo on 2/2 and 2/3, setup with a Teradek RT Latitude and Weapon Monstro. Swing by to check it out and say hello.

Pricing after this initial run is being worked out with distributors who will be taking over certain regions. If you want to take advantage of this early-bird pricing, you'll have to get your order in this week by filling out the form at the bottom of the cinenick.com/rtm page.

Also, there will be a Gold/V-mount module upgrade to my system very soon. This upgrade will not require sending in the unit and will be rolled out for pre-order customers first.

You should offer a package with the nato clamps and long nato rail. I have foolcontrol and and a really right stuff iPhone clamp and want to do this setup as you describe in your video.

Can you at least tell me how to source those parts? Thanks

Those parts were from whatever I could find in my odd-bits-n-pieces draw.

That long Nato rail is from SmallRig/CoolLCD. The original version has been replaced by this version which has spring stops at each end. Amazon link.

SmallRig/CoolLCD does the NATO clamps too. Amazon link.

However, the actual ones in the video are cheaper ones from NiceyRig.

We're not talking a lot of dollars to get these parts together. But I am happy to help source these extras for whoever needs it.

Gold-mount and V-lock modules have arrived and are heading out the door. This will allow much longer runtimes for power hungry builds.
