I'm a filmmaker and a bit of a vintage lens junkie, but here is a question *unrelated* to filmmaking:
My father recently had two eye surgeries. As a result of some complications from a retinal detachment, he is experiencing distorted vision in one eye. Apparently everything looks vertically distorted (flatter and wider than it should be). In talking about it to him, I thought of the cinemascope process of shooting and projecting with the intended process of distorting vertically. I also know that Nikon and Zeiss make eyeglass lenses. So my question is, could I have made for him a lens that corrects visual distortion?
As of now, it's nearly impossible for him to see and drive, so I'd be willing to go all extra miles to help him.
