I am very excited to add the Scarlet-X to my Production Arsenal. I was hoping that someone here might have a recommendation for a good case for it. I am looking for a hard case (Preferably Storm) with that nice thick custom cut foam. Can anyone suggest a good company that does this and how much can I expect to pay that service? I am still brainstorming the best configuration for the case, it's difficult since there are many items that Red has in the pipeline that I would like to add to this in the future.

Also, does anyone have a suggestion as to a rubber stop to put on the end of the SSD's to protect the open port on the bottom? Such as like the one P2 Cards come with.
 
Thanks Brian. I am looking for something I can customize to fit my own specific needs though. As everyone has a slightly different shooting package. For example I'll have more batteries, probably less SSD's and no Bomb EVF but room for top plate and handles possible as well as my A-Box from Wooden Camera, etc.

Stock pelican cases come with Pick and Pluck foam so you can customize it to your own gear...

I can vouch for the Pick-n-Pluck foam Pelican cases. Very awesome option and A LOT cheaper than a RED branded case. Unless you specifically want a RED brand case. The pelican case i have is huge and has wheels and a handle to pull it behind me.
 
I want the insert that comes with the RED branded case, but I want to use a case from Pelican. I like everything about the RED branded case except how it says "RED EPIC" on the front. It makes it hard to be inconspicuous when the name of a $40,000 camera is written on the side of your carrying case...

Seriously, just get a normal pelican case and make your own foam cut outs. I have done so for pieces of expensive pyrex glass and it works fine. Sure its not laser cut to fit your camera, but it will fit in nice and snug and be safe.
 
I got ya and totally understand. When people noticing me unloading or laoding my car they're like...hey whats that stuff? NOTHING GO AWAY! haha. I doubt you can get the laser cut foam separately. But my pelican case is EACTLY like that one..black...everything. Just doesnt say red and I had to "cut" the foam myself.

If you want I can upload a cpl shots of mine in the AM and get you some info on the one I have....its pretty big....BIG. That way you can look at it a little closer. I got it in 2009...i think i paid like $150 for it. Been worth every penny.

I'd be interested in some pics too. Definitely want to have a safe way to transport my equipment, so I'd love to see how it works out for others first.
 
Ya, I have a Storm case for my HVX right now as well (I prefer the latches on the storm compared to Pelican), with the pick and pluck foam, I was just looking at that high density laser cut foam since it doesn't seem to fall all over the place over time like the pick and pluck does and just seems to protect everything better, especially for this large of an investment. but it does also limit future expansion options I guess. Although you could also probably cut some more slots yourself. I'll continue researching it to see if the price is really worth it over just staying with pick and pluck.
