I found a company that water jet cuts foam. They spent a lot of time on the computer to come up with these custom cases. They did an awesome job. I have included picts of my 4 custom cases. I am not selling these cases but you can contact the company through this email tclement@neosource.net make sure the subject line says Craig Stutzman as he is the one who designed the cases. The company's site is www.neosource.net They don't have pictures of cases up yet. I am extremely pleased with the cases. Since these were a one off I don't know the price per case. I sure they won't be outrageous.

The designer spent 20 hours or so measuring every piece. He is a perfectionist. When we stuck the equipment in, he started making changes immediately. He gave me a break on the design time in hopes that maybe someone else might order a couple of cases to defray the cost of making only one set.

You will have to contact the designer for prices. He may sell them as inserts or as whole cases. I just don't know. His name is Craig Stutzman, you can email him at tclement@neosource.net

Which Pelican's are they? What model numbers and how many?

Also, have you thought about putting the rod and handle section over the main compartment like a tray? That might alleviate the need for the plexi cover. Looks like it might be deep enough.

I only paid a couple hundred for inserts because I was without equipment for two weeks while they measured and I said I would post picts so that he could sell more. I have told him about the interest and he is putting together foam prices as we speak.

The cases are Storm Cases not Pelican. There are corresponding Pelican cases, but I don't know if they are exactly the same size.

Body Case is im2975
Batt,Drive,Power Supply Case is im2950
Follow Focus, Matte Box Case is im2700
Lenses case is im2700

I bought the cases from 4LessDepot.com My exact price was $658.92 shipped to my door.

I didn't want a tray for my body case. The foam insert would be the same but a tray would need to be manufactured to support the foam. The company may do that.

So would you say buying the cases without foam from 4lessdepot.com and then ordering the inserts from Craig make the most sense? Or do we have to buy the foam and ship them to Craig?

My guess is, that in two month You will think: "What the h... was i thinking?"
(Hint: Pre-assembled camera, matte-box needs accessories, FF-4 needs extra stuff and so forth). But don't worry, we all need like 4 or 5 shots (Yes, that includes me) to get it right. So next time: Don't spend that much on version 1.0. Thanks for sharing anyway - keep 'em coming!

Nice to see some OK work. I just got the 2975 in today for our camera, so this is great timing. Did you take your cases over to him and he kept them until the foam was cut? Also the velcro on the rods, is that just wrapped around the rods or are they attached to the lid? Finally it looks like there is a piece of egg crate foam that lays on top of the camera? Thanks for the post!

Gopher

I finally got my custom A&J case last week. I'll post some photos in another thread. Pretty nice!
Cheers,
Harry

The velcro around the rods is attached to the foam. There is an eggcrate piece of foam over the body portion. I kept the cases while the foam was being cut. He used them for initial measurements. These cases are just what I needed for my gear. The important thing to remember is that the measurements for each piece of equipment can be moved, rotated, repositioned or used in different sized cases. If you have case measurements you can probably have them customized to your liking. Add or remove utility compartments, you choose.
