Current and Near Future Possible Workflows

Thank you for your replies. I checked it and by using the QT proxies generated by the the RED camera or made afterwards with RED ALERT and you will have all the information needed (soure TC, reel numbers) to make a proper EDL.

So John (lunacy) is it possible with Scratch Prepost
to make a shot selection
exporting the QT wrappers to FCP
Make your off line
Conform your off line with Scratch and convert this to DPX or whatever?

as an alternative
Makeyour shot selection with Redcine
exporting or copy the relevant QT wrappers to FCP
Make your off line
Conform your offline with Scratch and convert this to DPX or whatever

I'm not sure, to be honest...

We used RedAlert to generate the QT wrappers. It takes seconds and adds only a few kb of data, so we did everything, then brought it into Scratch for selects (just note taking), FCP for offline > EDL, then back to Scratch for conform/color.
