Hey guys, we have big problems with Cuda on every of our working stations. At last also on our Mac Pro 5.1 with a new GTX 570! If we enable Cuda, Premiere closes after a short time with errors cuttung RED clips. If we disable Cuda everything works fine, but very slow. The Z800 got similar problems, but we can wotk with RED clips. But rendering in WMV is only working if we disable Cuda. Whats wrong with CUDA?

Edit / Solved:

Going back to an older Cuda driver from the Nvidia website and setting the cache onto the HDD of the raid-0, it's working! Thx for your annotations and help.

Yes, both power suppy cables are connected.

Premiere just closes with something like: "A fatal error occurs. Premiere is trying to save the project and .... blabla..." And then Premiere closes and i have to restart. This wont happen if i disable Cuda.

A 12 core mac is going to be faster with software rendering than Cuda enabled. Not sure how much faster the newer card is but:

I am on a 8 core 2.9gig system with 48 gigs of ram. Running a GTX 285. Cuda enabled is slightly slower for 1/2 playback then the CPU. So it's kinda weird that your 12 core is slow?

What resolution playback are you using?

@Will:
Resolution is 1/2. And with Cuda enabled its really fast... some minutes ;) Then it freezes and Premiere shuts down. Cuda off - Red files will not be played at all. Now i tried to re-install the Cuda driver .36 from the Nvidia website (the OSX system installed the .37)

If Premiere works well, the performance is great. But working 5 minutes and then do a restart is not what i am searching for.

One thing to make sure is that you have the scratch volume assigned to the faster RAID.

My 12 core Mac Pros with x2 GTX285s and a RED ROCKET with Decklink 3D Extreme is working fine with Premiere Pro most of the time.
