it's our first music video and the first thing we shot with the red camera. The budget wasn't a whole lot more than you'd get trading in a car under cash for clunkers. It came out ok, all things considered, I sure learned a lot of things that will hopefully make the next one better.

if you wait for it to cache the hi def version looks pretty good for internet streaming...

EDIT: Thanks for the really nice comments guys! We were stretching our pennies as far as we could, so we used canon lenses via the birger mount, a sevenjib and dolly from long valley and HMIs from coollights for lighting. We figured out the wire flying with rock climbing gear and then built the actual rig out of cable by ourselves since no one in TN would proof load cables for us, knowing they were going to hold human beings.

Thanks to Erik Widding, Doug Underdahl, the viewfactor guys and Richard Andrewski for answering my questions and getting stuff out to me when I needed it.

Of course, thanks to Jim Jannard for opening a door to let dreamers through. I've been waiting for years for this camera.

You captured lightening in a bottle. Damn nice energy in that.

Great coverage, dynamic angles, razor sharp editing.
I didn't even get to the stunt work. I'm open to hear how you did the jumps.
Always good when a performance video gets to the heights of a
great live performance.

Very nice job.

please don't be terribly critical in the commenting, everyone shoots their first video once right?

I will be.... man it its very, very good!
You dont have to ask for any excuses.

Falling into the often-so-borring cathegory of music videos of bandmembers in a studio, this one looks amazing. As our sweet friend Tony would say, it is Gggggrrrrreeeaatt!

Looks amazing, so clean and sharp. Great colors too.

Did you use a fast shutter on the stage clips?

yes, anywhere from 1/500 to 1/800. We wanted faster, but we had to balance for the tungsten practicals/blinders. It was primarily lit with 575 HMIs from coollights through softboxes for the closeups.

Looks really good
Do you have any pictures of the wire rig?
What was it hanging from?
Who was lifting?

I like it but it looks a little sanitary for my tastes. Needs more grit

Edit: Great video BTW

for those of you who have been asking, we have a short piece on how we shot this video, including the wire flying sections.
