I want to use super 16mm PL mount lenses on my Scarlet 2/3" rig. I was wondering what the crop factor would be due to the fact that super 16 is slightly larger than 2/3". I should be able to use these lenses right? Has RED confirmed the PL mount for the Scarlet 2/3"?

Am I correct in assuming that 2/3" sensors are equivalent to standard 16mm and slightly smaller than Super 16 (which takes up the area of the audio track on standard 16mm)?

Jarred posted that the regular PL mount will work on the 2/3" Cinema Scarlet:

Yes there will be a standard PL mount for Scarlet 2/3rds removable so you can use 35mm and 16mm glass. This is how I shot The Time Tank Revisited with the Scarlet 2/3" Prototype and RED PRO 85mm PRIME remember :)

^^Ah, Justin... you get me every time.^^

crop factor should be fairly small - (1.25 if my calculations are correct) at least usable in most situations, I'd say. Assuming the glass is high quality.

See chart below.

PL mount is standard on S35 EPIC and S35 SCARLET cameras.

Mini-PL standard on 2/3 Removable.

There are an unlimited number of lens mount options for EPIC and Scarlet. Not all are electronically controlled. RED will offer quite a few and third parties will undoubtedly offer the rest. We'll list the RED offered options over time. We just aren't there yet.

(sqrt(12.52^2+7.41^2))/(sqrt(10.1^2+5.35^2))=~1,273

There is a B4 (2/3) to PL (16mm) adaptor that says its it a 6% difference. I cant guarentee this is correct but I think it is. Your better working from the table posed on red user. Also the lens image circle needs to cover the sensor or area of the sensor in use so you may be OK which ever way.
