Hi guys! i'm planning to buy a set of anamorphic lens for my dragonsand i was wondering what is the crop factor if i shoot in various anamorphic modes
i was also thinking about accessories for shooting anamorphic: i have a 5'' and a 9'' red monitor , do any of reds viewfinders desqueezed the image during shooting?
what other accessories would you suggest? a small hd monitor?
and last but not least, what format setting do you suggest ? a customized 6k or the classic 4k anamorphic mode?
thanks!

You can look up the specs on Phil's handy chart.

You want to know the crop factor compared to what? Anamorphic on a 4-perf 35mm camera? The vertical height recorded will determine that since you only need a 1.20 : 1 area of the sensor for 2X anamorphic photography if you want to end up with a 2.40 image.

The vertical height of 4-perf 35mm anamorphic is:
18.59mm (camera aperture) / 17.53mm (projector aperture)

According to Phil's chart:
6K 6:5 is 15.79mm tall
5K 6:5 is 13.49mm tall
4K 6:5 is 10.79mm tall

So divide the 4-perf 35mm height with the height of the Dragon sensor recorded in 6:5 mode to get the crop factor. I'd use the projector aperture figure since that's what gets viewed when you shoot in anamorphic on 35mm film. 17.53 ÷ 15.79 is only a 1.11X crop factor -- so shoot 6K 6:5 and you'll come the closest to same field of view as the anamorphic lens on a 4-perf 35mm camera.
