Made a test sequence in FCP. Made .xml. Put it through Crimson and got a telecine.xml. Did everything as shown in the video from crimson, but redcine just doesn't get the in/outs when I import, so I always have the whole clips. what am I missing? Anybody occurred this problem?

i am having the same problem. i posted on the crimson support forum, but thought i'd try here since the thread has been started and hopefully someone might have an answer sooner.

i'm using v8.6 (although i understand there's ver. 8.9-- ian works fast!)

here's a more specific outline of my problem:

so, we're using it for a fairly rudimentary process. take clips into fcp, edit down 2k selects using _H proxys for vfx elts and export necessary image sequences based on request. so i tried exporting an xml from fcp of a single clip with mulitple edit points. like sven, once i get my telecine crimson xml into redcine it shows the whole clip without the edits points (more specifically, i'm testing a simple iris wedge with my max of 7 edits and just cut out the chunks between exposure shifts, leaving one frame of each; i.e. my sequence is a whopping 8 frames). redcine shows the whole clip. any thoughts on why this happened?

thanks,

justin

Very interesting...
First try it with 0.8.9, then create a zip file including your Final Cut Pro XML and your _telecine.xml. Upload those to the thread you started on the Crimson Forum.

Out of respect for Jarred, I like to try to limit the number of threads on RedUser about Crimson.

Thanks,
Ian

I found that somehow my FCP sequence was corrupt. I was editing on several videotracks, which I now know, I shouldn't. I put all the cuts on one video track. Didn't work.
I suspected the subclips. Then I made a new sequence. Edited from the footageclips and it worked as supposed to be. Happiness.

So you must not use subclips? Anybody shared the same experience?
