I've been searching like crazy trying to figure out how to make a graded look in RedcineX or Color than save the settings Looks/ User Profile to RLK for the Red Camera to use. I spoke to a Red Camera operator who said this is something that can be done now.

Can anyone help a man out with some guidance on this topic or links to already existing threads I may have not found in my Google search.

I hope I was clear in what I'm trying to do.

Cheers,

Yes to Redcine-X creating looks. Highly recommend using the manual for Build 30, as well as the Redcine-X user manual. Very good info in there. And that's not a RTFM statement. That's a well intended suggestion because I've been very impressed with most recent versions of the manuals.

You can do this from RC-X directly. You can not do this from Color Directly.

Exporting RLK Profiles from RedcineX

Exporting RLK Profiles from RedcineX

Thanks for the advice. I did read the Camera manual and on Appendix C: It explains how to save Look / User Profile between cameras and in big bold letter that you can create Look files in Redcine-X and to refer to the Operations Guide.

Now I have scrolled the guide and even searched for Looks, User Profiles but I cant find anything in that pdf on how to go about exporting graded settings for the camera.

Can someone provide me with a page number. Please. I'm reading Build_30_ops_guide_v.30.5.0 and I am using REDCINE-X_build_104 to make this graded settings I would like to export for the camera.

Also quick minor question. After I get around to figuring this out this graded configuration that will be added to the camera will that grade be burned onto the recorded footage or its just seen on the monitor and all the footage will be in its raw Rec709 format?

In Redcine-X
- File>Save Current Look To Camera

Put the .RLK file on a SD Card, then

IMPORT LOOK
To import LOOK information, perform the following:
1. Press the VIDEO menu button on the rear of the camera.
2. Select VIDEO menu.
3. Select LOOK menu.
4. Select IMPORT and scroll to the desired file.
5. Press Joystick to confirm LOOK file selection.

It's grayed out for me. I have a clip in the player which i have graded and saved the grade in the look preset. What am I doing wrong that I have that option grayed out in File/

I just read in the manual on page9 Note: Save Current Look to Camera function is not active at this time.

So how are you going about doing this with the program?

Im using REDCINE-X (EARLY BETA)_build_104. Should I be doing all this with the ROCKETCINE-X (BETA) 1740 Build?

How To Create .RLK in REDCINE-X

How To Create .RLK in REDCINE-X

Please answer the question. If FILE/Save look to camera... is greyed out, how do I export an .rlk file in REDCINE-X?

Steve,

There's no Redcine 183 on the website. I have an old version of Redcine but its 3.12 and there is no clear export to camera option. All that's on the website is REDCINE-X_build_104 and ROCKETCINE-X (BETA) 1740.

Like I explained REDCINE-X_build_104 Save Current Look to Camera is grayed out for me.

ROCKETCINE-X (BETA) 1740 just doesn't show any such option. Maybe I'm missing something. Apart from the fact this program is slow as all hell without a Rocket Card.

I have a shoot on Wednesday and I would really like to get this look onto the camera for the Director.

Hi,
I try to export a look but a message appears:
color space and gamma space have to be set on rredcolor and redspace and values of gain lift and gamma have to be at default value.
So how to create a LUT?
many thanks
