Hi everyone!

I assume this is a simple question but I can't find a proper solution so far...

We shot a project on a Scarlet, project will be delivered in 25p so the timebase was set to 25p in camera. Some shots were shot at 50p to add slow motion.

How do I create proxies for the editor that are 50p so he can add the slow motion? I can't figure out how to do it in redcine-x. I can only render them out in 25p.

Same problem in Davinci Resolve. Added the R3D files into a 50p project but the clips are getting displayed as 25p. (Metadata in Redcine-x says "Frame rate 25 / Record frame rate 50").

What's the proper way to do it?

The camera is set to a project frame rate, in your case 25P. You then recorded variable frame rate of 50fps. You set your project in davinci to match the project frame rate of camera and your variable frame rate footage plays in slow motion. Now if you changed your project rate to 50fps that would be something different

Someone should create a plugin app for premiere and FCP10 that would take a timeline of .r3d clips and automatically render all those clips into a separate proxy folder. Then it would automatically take those proxy renders (that you set resolution size of and file type before they render) and put them on a proxy time line for editing. Then same plugin would read final edited proxy timeline and make new timeline with the original .r3d files at original resolution.
