Crazy Thought: Merge two Mac Pro's together?

Just a crazy thought, but is there any way possible to take two of the new 12 core mac pros and somehow "merge" them together so that you could in theory have (1) 24-core machine with four GPU's?

do you want to merge them physically or would a "virtual merge" (like a render farm etc.) do the job?

Its called a Beowulf cluster. Essentially paralleled computing. Basically you would have to roll your own. Look at Xgrid or similar as a jump off point.
