Are there any accessaries that run camera( start and stop) in case cam is on the crane?

Today we tested a wireless Preston connected via the RS232. The camera was giving energy to the Preston via the D TAP.
We got it working on a Technocrane 15 and it could control de REC botton remotely.
In case this did not work I have the Origo with the longest cable. But that was too short for the Technocrane 50.

BTW Does anyone know if you can attach one origo cable to another one to make it longer?

It's male on both ends. Gender change required.

There are several ways to remote start/stop the RED. One of the two aux power ports on the back below the LCD panel also sports a GPI-addressable start/stop, so a simple cable can be made. The Origo can do it nicely, as can a box for MonsterCine. A Preston Microforce with the correct cable can do it as well as can any wireless lens control system such as a Preston, Scorpio, C-Motion or Bartech BFD, provided they have the correct cable. And you could even do it with a simple wireless trigger device such as a Pocket Wizard, which is made to electronically trigger still cameras or their remote strobes.

It's pretty easy, just closing a circuit and opening it again.
