We have what appears to be a corrupt r3d file that we are unable to render out without either crashing the program we're using or getting horrible flash frame artifacts.

Any ideas how we can salvage our shot? Going back to reshoot isn't really an option at this point.

Have you tried Red Undead? Supposedly does wonders on corrupt footage... Best if you still have the original media on Red Drive or CF, but I think it's worth a go on the copy.

Haven't tried it. Don't know how. I have to access it through the terminal, yes? I don't know if I should be messing around in there. Have you done it before?

RED Undead. That may resolve the scenario directly. For future use , also use R3D Datamanager before getting a straight download to your computer. Cause it also provides an email announcement of when your file is copied over. (if your DIT is connected and has a phone on set).

No, I haven't personally. But those I have spoken to swear by it. Certainly worth a shot.

Not working for me. Highly possible that I'm doing something wrong. However, I'm trying to recover data that has been transferred to our raw drives. Not reading off a REDFlash or REDDrive.
