Hi

Seems I have some corrupt R3D files form a big shoot yesterday.

Files come up as offline in Red Cine X Pro and dont open in RED Player - though I can see the files in the Mac Finder and they are several Gigs is size.

They were copied to a GRAID Drive on location but the original REDMAG has been reused.

is there a utility to help me retrieve these files ?

All help gratefully received !

Hi there

I had a similar symptom once.

Copying off the original media with REDundead, helped me retrieve most of the files.

The issue was a meta-thing where the filename didn't correspond with the metadata filename....

(or WAS, is a bit too strong, but that's what it looks like caused it...
And when they got off the card with REDundead, the files had different names than the initial copy...)

Not sure if this will work for me as I am not coming from a RED Mag ?- my media is on a drive..

I have tried using the REDUndead terminal route but nothing happened..

was this a finder level copy? I assume no checksums.

Have you run something like Disk Warrior to make sure you don't have corrupt directories? I'd start there, especially if none of the files are showing up.

Hi Steve - I am new to the Epic and self DIT ! So yes a simple finder level copy function. No checksums. The files are showing up it's just that a bunch are coming up as 'offline' in REDCINE X. Also other R3D Files that look fine in REDCINE X are failing to export due to 'output errors' on some frames. All rather worrying !

I will try disk warrior.... any other suggestions most welcome. BTW can you recommend a good MAC OS X app for professional copying and checking of R3D files ?

Thanks Steve.
