I'm using a couple of cheap 500w DIY lights, with CTB gel, pointed at a few windows to give the impression of moonlight... Only problem is, I'm getting a rather greenish hue from them. Is there any way I can correct this and get a nice "true" blue?

DD.

What shane said, or white balance to a card, then shift blue in post.

You could always tint in the WB section...add magenta.

That's what a minus green gell would do.

Try this protocol,
Shoot a white card. Import to comp. Load clip in Red Cine X. Pick White Bal.
Then the program should give you a degrees kelvin and a tint. That should point you in the direction you need to go for a correct white balance.

Then add your blue gell.
