  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Cool RED footage Montage- check it out

i agree its beautiful...have a question. about three seconds into each shot there is a wierd pixel shift...wtf is that? more a tech question for the red people than the shooter

That is beautiful. Can you tell us a little about your workflow, and Color Correction (if you feel comfortable). Your footage gives me something to shoot for in terms of quality.

yo that's awesome, I was just doing a shoot at the Salton Sea and am getting ready to shoot my next movie right around there!

Some beautiful shots here! Great stuff.

Regarding a momentary pixel shift or glitch, I'm willing to bet that's a compression artifact from vimeo.com. I don't know what codec they use but all web video is highly compressed. Typically a video stream has mostly predicted frames with some stand-alone frames. When you reach the end of a GOP (group of pictures) and hit a new I frame (stand-alone), you often see a slight hiccup in the background pixels, because the motion-prediction vectors are seldom perfect so the predicted frame doesn't match perfectly with the real one.

Anyway, short answer is it's a compression artifact from vimeo, not from the original Red R3D footage.
