This is a complete set of the famous Cooke Speed Panchro Series II and Series III prime lenses, used by the likes of Kubrick, Cassavetes and many others. All these lenses are in original ARRI Standard mount so the lenses can be used on cameras with ARRI Standard Mount and ARRI Bayonet Mount. With a Les Bosher "ARRI Standard (Cooke) to PL mount adapter" these lenses could be used on many cameras with an ARRI PL Mount, including the RED ONE camera.

All six of these lenses received a CLA from Guy Genin at ZGC and are ready to go.

The set includes:

The Cooke Speed Panchro Series III 18mm lens (serial number 688XXX) with original Taylor Hobson Cooke front lens cap and standard rear lens cap.

The Cooke Speed Panchro Series III 25mm lens (serial number 740XXX) with front and rear lens caps.

The Cooke Speed Panchro Series II 40mm lens (serial number 748XXX) with front and rear lens caps.

I'm asking $7250 for the lens set.

These lenses are worth every penny Tim's asking.. they are stunning on a Red, also the Les Bosher adapter makes lens changes a breeze without a pard PL mount in case you do want to shoot on an older Arri 35 with a std mount

They also nicely match the Cooke 9-50 Zoom really well in case you want to shoot 2k Slow Motion and match the Cooke look.

I only wish my set was in as nice a shape as Tim's.

nice lenses, is there any yellowing on the 75mm?...am I right in thinking the set no longer includes the les bosher PL adaptor?....thank you for your time. Cheers. Benn Peacock

Did you sell them for $7250 ($1200 each) ?

No, I took them off the market because there are more and more HD cameras coming out with PL mounts that I can use these lenses with, and it took me well over a year to put this set together. They are all pristine and I would never find another set like this for anywhere near $7250, so I decided to keep them.

Actually, I put them up for sale because they weren't getting used. Then about a week after I put them up I got a 35mm project that needed them. So I had to hang onto them for a while, even though I got a number of offers for them.

Then last week, as the project was progressing, I noticed another digital camera that takes PL mount glass, and with so many PL mount digital cameras on the horizon, and with these having such a unique vintage look to them, I figured I'd be better off keeping them. I'd never find another set like these for anywhere near $7250.

Sorry to disappoint.

There was one on Ebay though a few weeks back which sold for a little bit more than 5000 USD.

They were even rehoused to BNCR.

Not sure if those were the Visual Products lenses, but they have been offering them on eBay for quite some time now. In the past, right before the auction ended, if the bids had not gotten up high enough, they have pulled the auction. The lenses are still listed on Visual Products web page, so I bet they didn't sell them for $5000.

Plus a BNCR mount is a bit more difficult to find on the new digital HD cameras (unlike the PL mount that I have for my Cookes), and those lenses had not been overhauled by Guy Genin at ZGC like mine have.

Yeah the Visual Products lenses. I bid on one auction and it sold for under 6000 USD, it followed through. It included a BNCR mount for the RED so for that camera it's fine I guess.

Also, a few weeks later, I bought a set myself and the glass is in pristine condition. The 75mm is not even slightly tinted at all which kinda most of the time is the indicator.

PL mount is great but I would be hesitant to work with lenses that small, we are having slight problems with the rehoused ones already, how do follow focuses and matteboxes work?

I've adapted a Van Diemen matte box to work with the Cookes and have a few different attachments for follow focus. Not as smooth and easy as Master Primes, but if you want the look, you make some sacrifices.

Where did you get the set you bought, how much did you pay, and who did the re-housing, Samcine, Century, someone else?

Best,
-Tim
