Edit:
Limited Time Special Rental Pricing on Long Term Rentals:

It looks like I will be traveling for an out-of-town feature for many weeks and will not be around to carefully manage my lens rentals as I normally do. Thus it could be a win-win solution to get these lenses out the door at low prices but for long durations.

If you have a feature film, or otherwise longer term rental need that starts in January or February, (3 weeks or more) please reach out for some absolute killer deals on these lenses. See below for details on lenses available and etc.

Now available for rent; Multiple sets of Cooke Mini S4/i lenses.

For those who may not know, these lenses are basically Cooke S4's, but smaller, lighter and one stop slower at T/2.8. They are also extremely affordable to rent in comparison, typically about half the price. Makes a great choice for budget minded productions or for second unit lensing.

Focal lengths available 18, 21, 25, 32, 40, 50, 65, 75, 100 and 135mm.

These lenses all easily cover Red Epic 5k and they also just cover Red Dragon 6k HD and WS. At 32mm and above, they cover 6k FF. For more details, see 6k coverage chart here: http://www.ryanpatrickohara.com/dragoncoverage.html

Uncoated front elements
as well as rear elements are also available for more vintage optical quality yet modern mechanics... at no extra charge. If you rent lenses from us, you choose your coatings. See the difference here in these small tests: http://www.ryanpatrickohara.com/Uncoated_Test.html

We have a 2x PL tele-extender to make the 100mm a 200mm, or the 135mm a 270mm lens.

We have a Duclos PL macro tube, which will allow for extreme close focusing.

The Cooke Mini 21mm through 135mm all have 82mm filter threads. For lightweight work, like drones or gimbals, we also offer Firecrest IRND's .3 - 2.1, Polarizers, Optical Flats, and Black Pro-Mist filters 1/8 and 1/4. We also have adjustable rubber screw in hoods to keep flares at a minimum. This weight LBS lighter than traditional clip on MB's with 4x5.65 filters.

Feel free to email or call for more details.

This past Saturday I shot with some of Ryan's mini S4's, and not only are the lenses excellent to begin with, but Ryan is very helpful and a pleasure to work with.

Thank you!

Cooke Mini's are wonderful alternatives for those who either want more Cooke focal lengths than budget allows or simply have a tighter budget all around. Mini S4's typically are about half (or less) the cost of regular S4's, allowing productions with limited budgets to get the same look or more focal length options for less money. They also make great budget conscious 2nd-unit lenses or for multi-cam days on productions using S4's.

Focal lengths available: 18mm, 21mm, 25mm, 32mm, 40mm, 50mm, 65mm, 75mm, 100mm and 135mm. Mix and match any number of lenses, we have multiple lenses for most focal lengths.

Uncoated front elements are available at no extra cost. Uncoated rear elements as well. Email me for comparison footage of uncoated elements.

Of course! Every production has different needs. Cooke Mini S4's aren't always the best choice and we are always here for when they are.

New to my collection of lens accessories for Cooke Mini S4's is the Duclos PL 20mm macro Tube.

Take a look at this test to see what it can add to your rental of Cooke Mini S4's. (Shot with Red Epic camera at 5K)

Bump!

We had some rentals return recently and now is a great time to get any size set of Cooke Mini S4's, with regular or uncoated elements.

will these cover the Epic-W 8k sensor?

Absolutely!

Although the manufacturer spec for lens coverage for the Mini S4's is 33.54 (image circle via Cooke's website), they put that because it was the size of Red's Epic MX 5k sensor size... testing I have done and backed up by testing of some very reputable rental houses have shown that all of the Mini S4's cover at least 34mm. The Epic-W 8k Helium sensor size of 33.80, so it's safe to say that they will all cover.

FWIW, In terms of simply covering the image, the 18mm is roughly 35/36mm diagonal, the 21mm is roughly 35/36mm, the 25mm is roughly 34mm, the 32mm is roughly 37mm, the 40mm is roughly 36mm, the 50 and 65mm are roughly 38mm, and the 75, 100 and 135mm actually cover full frame photography, making them beyond my ability to measure.

Early 2017 special updated in first post. January-February only.
