Of course I haven't, and that's why I'm skeptical. Curt claims his FF has zero backlash since it's direct drive. Of course there may be smoothness trade-offs because of that. For the price I'd rather try it than dismiss it before it's out.

The gearbox might be but when attached to the lens? Direct drive can also mean vibrations depending on speed or when ramping. Motion control rigs have been around for many years, it's not the first time someody has tried to fix this.

Um, so like I said; There may be smoothness trade-offs because of this. Seriously, are you not reading? All I'm saying is that it's an interesting product and we'll be trying it out despite my skepticism that this particular function will work.
