  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Cooke 20-100?

I picked up a Cooke 20-100, great condition for just under $6,000 last week...
Seems steep perhaps but I need a zoom as well as primes.

However my camera now looks like it's due in september, rather than May! Forgive me if I sound sceptical but it'll be a couple of years before RED can produce enough lenses to fulfill demand- glass prices will stay high for a good long time still.

I agree...with 4000+ Red One cameras, an unknown number of Epics in the future, and the distinct probability of other camera manufacturers stepping up to the plate with their own version of digital cinema cameras (It's GOT to happen!)...I think glass will be in short supply for a while. With the compexity of lens manufacturing, I believe it is not an easy task to put together a manufacturing line to produce lenses in large numbers. Not to say that it will not happen...just that it is a daunting task. I don't see how Canon can produce their 70-200mm F4.0 lens for about $600.00. 20+ elements, each having to be individually ground to very exacting specs...all the machining, etc. Mind boggling to me (I have a bit of a manufacturing background...in a past life, before film). Just my two elements.
