Hi,

You stated the 'real' price was 8500 euro, I just don't happen to agree with what you said.

It's not my business anyway.

Check it out later.

it's funny to see you stephen pushing the prices down.. good try anyway

just wondering.. where you get such deals.. where only you have got it :matrix:

you already have your answer.. mr williams has spoken.. but would you find a decent unit for such price range?.. nope.. so

The filmmaker's gang has a "certain" stile of thinking and he/she is already

"tracked" (identity, location, education, status, movement, etc,...)

by the "professional" and "private" security services in a couple of countries and continents.

And YES, the world is laughing now and has got even smaller for that sort of businesses.

.

The game is soon OVER.

and price i get from seller.

Biba,

I have the Cooke 20-100mm as do many others. It is a proven lens.

Let's assume the Red lens is just as good. Keep in mind some say that the Cooke 20-100mm is close to the 18-100mm in image quality, so we are talking about it being equal to Cooke's current design.

What it comes down to is $9500 vs. $6000.

I am going to go with Cooke if I had to make this decision now.

Also, we don't know how the Red is going to render colors, warm like Cooke, cool like Zeiss? That might make up a lot of people's minds right there.

Personally, I like warm.

Yes, but what of the 20-100mm for the asking price of $7500? Assume great condition, and immediate availability (whereas the Red 18-85mm could take months to receive).

Is it really so crazy to pay such a high dollar for this lens? 6 months ago, definitely, but now, in this market?

I have already been kicking myself repeatedly for holding off on buying a lens for my camera, which will ship any day now. Would I be kicking myself again for paying a premium on a lens this old, even if it's in great condition?

What I'm trying to get at, I think, is will the Cooke quality and look on my camera make it easier to live with knowing that I did pay a high price for something that could have gone for half this price a year ago?

Anyone?

Of course, I would rather pay under $6000, but I'm very wary of buying from so many of the rental houses that seem to have this lens listed for sale, considering how much use they've had over the decades. In fact, many of the rental houses are asking above $7000 as well.

Does anyone know where I could rent a time machine?
