Does anyone know a way to convert redfootage to an other framerate, in my case from 25 ftp to 24 fps without the need for rendering?

Is there some kind of flag we can modify in the metadata?

The client shot most of the footage in 24fps bud some footage is shot in 25fps. we need to convert this

is it ok if when you convert it, it plays back a little bit slower?

By conforming to 24fps in Cinema Tools it would result in a slight slow motion by about 4%. As far as I know there is no other way to that, than conforming to 24 and than "speed up" the footage to get back in sync what of cause needs rendering and the right app. The only way to do it complytly without rendering is to drop the 25 footage in a 24 timeline in your editing program. It will then just throw away one frame a second what results in a stutter every second. So maybe fine for editing but not for final output IMO.
The frame rate has nothing to do with metadata. If you recorded 25fps you have 25 pictures that need to be played back in one second to stay in sync.

Just re-interpret 25fps to 24fps and it will be 4% slower (longer). It's done all the time. You will need to adjust the pitch of the audio, but this is standard operation.

Many thnx!
cinema tools indeed did the job.

We don't want to convert/render it because we want to do the grading on the RED-files
