Continuous autofocus ever possible on RED

With this new continuous autofocus on Canon cinema series and 3 axis gimbals becoming evermore popular will we see a continuous autofocus implemented on RED? I think this would be helpful on leading, following talent on gimbal use. And with REDs having multiple mount options this would be amazing.

Back in the fixed scarlet days it was thoughts on good autofocus (i think it was continuous to) and a mode you could follow a person with the finger on the display to keep the focus. But thats years ago and there have been silent since then I think.

The way the Epic and Scarlet focus works on contrast and not phase detection, so it's never as good or as fast as a Canon SLR. Despite all the good intentions, using this technique will never work for constant autofocus.
