Hello fellow contax users.
This might be a bit off topic, but seeing the collected knowledge about lenses in this thread gives me hope.
I've been looking through the world of middleformat camera/lenses and was curious about the mamiya sekor c lenses if anyone
have had any experience with them. Using them with digital format cameras and such.

I also happened upon a Angenieux 45-90mm / 2.8 for Leica R and was wondering if anyone can tell me something about it.
I own two 16mm film lenses of angenieux which I find a delight to use but have no clue about their SLR lenses.

I have a Mamiya Sekor C 80mm 1.9 I love it for the character and speed. Solid build like you would expect and a bit warmer and softer kind of character than the contax lenses IMO. Also bit more saturated colors. Although my copy has got micro fungus growing in on it. I heard it was a challenge trying to find really clean copies of the Mamiya line. They are really cheap for what they are at the moment but no doubt the price is going to go up. There is some (only a handful) of videos made with them online.

Yeah, Contax glass is great. They've elevated so much of our work over the years. And the mechanics are great too, esp when modded.

Conscious choice. We scouted ahead of time, and talked to client about making interviews as "moody" and dark as possible, to match tone of show. Whats funny is we actually went DARKER during the prelight, but our client pushed us to nice middle ground you see in piece now. Was super fun to stylize these ints though, thanks for noticing, Ben!!

Did I hear you right that you had RP lens put a 77mm filter adapter on your 18mms?

1) Do you think you'd have vignetting on full frame?
2) Is it something you think they might be able to send me that I could affix my self?

What kind of a case (pelican or otherwise) are you guys using for your Contax lenses? I've been throwing mine in a Thinktank bag, but having 7 now, and hopefully 8 soon, I feel like I should stick them in a box.

My design is FILE ID# 16863, if that helps. It's 8 x 80OD inserts, with FULL clearance of the wheel wells below (took me a couple of tries to nail that).

Guys, once we find a way to share the existing designs, here is mine: FILE ID#14478 6 lens, 80mm OD, plus a place for accessories, where I normally place an additional lens laying down. Took me 2 tries! Note: pay the extra $7.99 for their FAILSAFE Protection if you are designing your own!

I wish I could have find the 18 contax before I left for my trip to Azores, but the 25 does the job quiet well me think.
