Just screw the Cordvision 80mm front onto your 82-77 stepdown. That's what i do. Works great.
and it still doesnt vignette at 28?

Hi Nick
I registered to RedUser because of this incredible thread![]()
Since i've started to follow it a few months ago, i've gathered myself a very nice Contax set and couldn't be happier.
Leaving in Japan helped to find mint condition MMJ lenses and i just saw one i didn't of, the Makro-Planar 60mm/F2.8C (MMJ)
C is for compact, as this lens is supposed to be the same as the regular Makro 60mm , but smaller (?)
Anyway, i though i'd share that with you, if you ever had any experience with it i'll be delighted to hear about
Many thanks!
Rishaar
Looking good Nick!
Nick, thanks again for sharing some images! Looks great!
Did you have the HBM On in all these shots?
Yup. Nicely spotted. HBM on all of them actually. With a hyperstar filter as well.
Awesome, it def looks nice.
Nick, is there a way to know the age of the lens by it's serial number? I'd love to know when mine were made. (they arrive next week btw)
To be honest, not sure. Contax was "born" in 1975 and the MM's starting rolling in 1984. I usually backdate it that way. If it's a low serial in the 5's, I'm guesing the 70's. If its in the low 6's, then the early 80's. And if its in the high 6's and low 7's, then mid to late 80's, maybe early 90's. And if its a high number..like in the 8's, I'm guessing 90's. I know this is about as generic as it gets, but it's as far as I go in terms of carbon dating them. I know someone had a "master list" that actually could pinpoint the production rollouts of each lens, and date them specifically...pretty amazing...but I've never managed to stumble upon anything that revealing myself.
Hope this helps!
It's just out of curiosity really.
Now have you ever seen this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/myrtus21/3832973853 two 85mm 1.4 both AEG and with different colored coatings. Very strange and interesting.
Hey guys, here are some spots shot on my Contax Primes and Scarlet. For "A Very Shelby Xmas" on History. Enjoy!!
