  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Contax Zeiss Survival Guide

Thanks Nick. Looks like I will try to eventually just rent a ZE 21 and see how well I can match it with the rest of the set on a project. If it is too difficult will have to save up for the Contax version. Hopefully prices don't get even more out of control by then.

Any one have experience with the 135mm f/2... is it worth the coin?

Wouldn't say its worth it over the 135mm f2.8. That one's a steal. Will you really need the extra stop? 135mm at f2 would be very shallow, wouldn't fit my style at least.

Hi guys,
as you noticed I was becoming a bit obsessive with my silkworms.
I finally arrived at the term of the worms cycle of life, it took me 2 month though and many night without sleep waiting for things to happend.
Just to share a recap of the impressive life of the silkworm here is a FB page with pics, all shot with a 60 AE.

Hey guys. I purchased a 25mm and 35-70 contax a couple of months ago. The 25 was an ex+ and zoom was ex from KEH. I have been very happy with them but have noticed a weird blemish inside the zoom about a month ago. I examined the lenses when I received them and this was not there. I have looked up lots of images of lens fungus and it seems to have a different look. I have kept the lens out and also put it in the sun to see if it would dry out, but still the same. Any suggested would be great.

It is the spot just near the middle right side of the lens.

Brandon, that spot looks unusual. Id suggest sending it to Duclos or Peter at RPLens so they can clean that out for you. Otherwise your glass looks in good shape!

This thread has cost me a lot of money in the past week.
And in the next few weeks it's going to cost me a lot more as soon as I can decide which 21/2.8 to buy :)

All I can say is 'thank you' to Nick for finding a reason to drain my wallet.

Haha. You're welcome! And welcome to the club!!

I'm still in the entry lounge waiting for the Leitax mounts to arrive, but very much looking forward to playing with these babies. I bought a 50mm 1.4 and 25 F2.8 from KEH and combed the Singapore shops to find a 60mm macro and 85 f1.4, both in perfect condition. Managed to haggle the price of the 85 from USD1200 to USD550 so was feeling very pleased with myself yesterday. All of them are German AEs, and I'm sure they'll work well with my full set of Mamiya 645 primes from the same era.
