Hi Robert-

1. Can we assume the glass and Techno FF are separate than the RED package? Or is all of the above the Package you speak of not splitting up? Might want to clarify that.

2. Do you have an estimate on the repair cost on the 50mm focus ring? Are the Zeiss B Speeds?

thanks

I would like to keep it all together. Having said that I realize that the lenses can be broken off easier and sold seperately, but I will not break up the Red parts etc.

There are only a few people in the world that can repair this kind of glass, it can be pricey, I would guess it could be between 1500 and 2500 to repair.

The speeds are MK 2. Email me for pics rps (at) filmshack (dot) com

Lots of cams going for sale these days...
Why is this? Is it just because there are more of them out there? People have had them for a while? People getting out of the business? Financial setbacks? Projects finished/cancelled? It would be nice if sellers include ... "reason for selling".

Guessing here, but it's time for an upgrade - one way or another - for current owners.

If the cam hasn't been too active, it's a good time for an evaluation. The R1 M won't become a hotter commodity when the MX cams, Epics and Scarlets are out in the free. Now is a good time to decide what one really needs.

If - on the other hand - one can make good use of the cam today, the upgrades aren't really that much of an issue. The cam is - even with the M sensor - as good tomorrow as it is today, which is really: quite good.

The issues are:
Do I really need a film-like PL-mount S35mm cam today?
Can I wait for Scarlet S35?
Does it make sense for me to upgrade the cam?
Can I actually get away for most of my work with a 5D/7D?

If the answer to the first is no, and the second is yes, and the third is no, and the fourth is yes, then the cam goes out for sale.

But that's just me speculating...

Edit:
Sorry for taking this OT!
I really hope you sell your equipment for a good price!

Remarkably accurate for me. I LOVE my rig and have shot tons of stuff for it, but it has always been about the glass, so I am preparing to downgrade to a fixed scarlet and S35. I make a lot of how to video and it is way to big for a lot of the work.

I hope this explains a bit.
