I've got a 4X2tb drive OWC Qx2 which works great for what I do - but I'm not normally pushing Red 3d Multicam-type datarates - there's more 5D/7D around here, at least that I see.
A quick note on the CoolDrives Esata Hub - they have a disclaimer saying "This products requires a host controller that supports Port Multiplier technology!
At this time, no Desktop or Laptop computer ships with a SATA or eSATA controller that supports Port Multiplier!! This means you will likely need to buy a SATA Card to install that does. We Sell all kinds of PCI, PCI-x, PCIe, Expresscard, and PCMCIA SATA cards that support Port Multiplier Technology."
I assume that this means it wouldn't work to go straight from the Sata cable from the Optical Drive? It would need some sort of card in between, right? Any guesses how this would be solved? It would be great to have another faster connection, and I rarely use the optical drive anyway.
