Hi all,
I have recently purchased a set of WCU-4 and a single motor of cforce Mini RF with "RED CTRL/D-Tap Cable" (K2.0015758), and I have got some technical problem on connecting the above set to my RED EPIC-W Helium 8K Camera with "DSMC2 V-LOCK I/O EXPANDER".
I firstly factory reset my EPIC-W camera, and then connected the "RED CTRL/D-Tap" Cable to a cforce Mini RF motor, CTRL port on my EPIC-W camera, and an external 14.8V D-Tap battery. I then proceed to enable "RED Command Protocol" function on my EPIC-W. The WCU-4 was able to search and calibrate the motor, as well as able to record footage on my EPIC-W through WCU-4 wirelessly.
However, when I did some set up on my EPIC-W, such as time base, shutter angle, resolution, frame guide and hotkey, the WCU-4 suddenly lost connection to cforce Mini RF motor. The WCU-4 kept searching the motor, and the motor kept flashing red lights on both upper and bottom button, while the EPIC-W maintain setting at "RED Command Protocol". Both WCU-4 and the motor were not functional at that moment.
Only when I remove "RED CTRL/D-Tap" Cable from CTRL port on EPIC-W, the WCU-4 could connect the motor again and able to shift focus wirelessly. Then I connect "RED CTRL/D-Tap" Cable to CTRL port on EPIC-W for the second time, the WCU-4 lost signal with the motor again.
May I ask whether I made a wrong set up on my WCU-4 or on my RED EPIC-W camera, and how I could fix the problem.
Thanks all.
